PERSONALITY
Boulder would be the first to call himself a wimp, to say it simply. Due to his rather unfortunate abandonment of his father, and his mother's long sickness that resulted in her untimely death, he has been powerless to stop the cats he loved from leaving him, whether or not by choice.
For that reason, he's always had a sense of self-doubt in his worth, and lacks the confidence in his own abilities. He's a nervous bundle of energy; skittish in every right, and prone to crying due to his emotional nature. He knows if not for his sister Wisp, he'd be lost on his own in the world.
With all that said however, Boulder is one of the biggest sweethearts around; he loves fiercely, and while a scaredy cat in his own right, will protect those he loves with his life if they were in danger. He can be rather gullible, thinking the best of others, but he'd rather be friendly to all he comes across then be suspicious of others intentions. He always strides to uplift those around him and put a smile to someone's face when they're down, even if he can't do that for himself.

HISTORY
Boulder was the only born in his litter, to his mother Plum and father, Rush. Very early on, he knew something was wrong with his mother, as she had trouble producing milk and seemed always tired, more so then anyone should. And while his father always brought back prey for him and his mother, he was never around long enough for Boulder to even get a word in. And then one day, he stopped coming at all.
His mother was forced to hunt, but with her health only continuing to get worse, she wasn't able to bring back much. And so Boulder was forced to learn to hunt very early on to keep him and his mother fed. And he did for a few moons, until his mother stopped eating the food he'd bring. She lost her appetite, and then, lost her strength, until there wasn't much left to lose. Not long after she died, and then he was on his own.
Alone and despondent, Boulder found himself orphaned and on his own at only 5 moons old. Sure, he could hunt, but now he was by himself at far too young, and everything scared him, from the buzz of the bees, to the crunch of a dry leaf under his paw. It only got worse as the days started growing colder; that was, until he met Wisp, very coincidently while he was weeping in a bush. Being orphaned herself, they found companionship within one another and decided to stick together from then on. Slowly, things started looking up for him, and he found himself feeling, for the first time in a long time, happy.
Since then, Boulder regarded Wisp as family, knowing that he would've been lost without her help and support throughout the moons. They might have both lost family before, but they gained each other through that.
