BREED Purebred Japanese Bobtail | CLAN Kittypet | player bagelfriend |
PERSONALITY
Positive TraitsDetermined —Mango's sense of entitlement and materialism, combined with a ruthless determination, make her a formidable force to be reckoned with. She's not easily deterred, especially when it comes to achieving her goals, and she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants. Her determination is a double-edged sword, however, as it can make her stubborn and unwilling to compromise, even when it might be in her best interest. But when she sets her mind to something, she'll see it through to the end, no matter the cost.
Loyal —Despite her selfish tendencies, Mango feels a fierce sense of loyalty to her twoleg owner due to the security the twoleg provides her, such as endless meals, a safe den, and riches beyond her dreams. Although she generally has a hard time creating friendships, she goes to great lengths to protect the few she has and ensure their success. However, her loyalty is always challenged by her narcissistic nature, and she finds herself prioritizing herself if the situation benefited her more.
Negative Traits
Narcissistic – Mango has an inflated sense of self-importance and craves attention and admiration from others. She genuinely believes she is superior to others (despite not having an ounce of survival skills) and can become enraged if she feels she isn’t receiving the respect she deems she deserves. She is often preoccupied with her appearance, such as how soft her coat is, or if she has any crumbs of kibble on her chin.
Entitled – Mango believes she deserves special treatment because of her kitty-pet background. She feels rules do not apply to her, and that others should accommodate her needs and desires. This can lead to a lack of empathy or consideration for others, as well as a tendency to take advantage of others to get what she wants.
Materialistic – This young molly highly values things she considers as status symbols, such as her shiny rhinestone collar, and judges others based on their possessions – or lack of. She feels a sense of superiority over those who has less than she does, whether it be a smaller yard, a safe twoleg den, or lavish meals at request. Any relationship she has with other cats, whether it be romantic or platonic, may be superficial. She generally lacks appreciation for the things that truly matter in life, but this could potentially change in the future...
HISTORY
On a cold and rainy day, Dahlia and her siblings were born in a warm nest of plush blankets, their mother’s sweet scent engulfing them with her love. Her mother was a petite, snow-white molly named Anastasia van der Linde; her siblings were named Raphaela, Caspian, and Percival. Her father surrounded her mother with his ginger body – his name was Lysander van der Linde, and a distinctive jingling noise came every time he moved to lick their heads. The young couple were owned by twolegs in their den and were considered the most fortunate cats in the neighborhood – no kittypet dared to cross them. This was due to their roles as fancy show cats, who traveled far and wide to compete with their twolegs. Because they were show cats, their twolegs purposely allowed the two to breed, hoping to monetize from their offspring.
As they grew, Dahlia was pampered with everything she needed to thrive as a young kit, including fresh food nearly every hour, an endless supply of trinkets and toys to play with, and high-quality medical care. Her parents did their best to teach all four kits how to be upstanding cats, but as you can imagine, sometimes it was difficult to give each kit attention. They also tried to instill certain beliefs to them to maintain their social status in the neighborhood. This resulted in Dahlia feeling she had to compete with her siblings for attention and love. She was determined to be the best of the four – she kept her pelt clean of dirt, wore her jingling collar with pride, and spoke properly, like her parents did. This proved to benefit her, as her parents noticed her improvement, and began to take special interest in her. She’d often tease her siblings over this, telling each of them, “See? Mother and Father love me more than you!”
When Dahlia and her siblings were 3 moons old, strange twolegs began to come to the den, each one choosing a kit and taking them away. Despite seeing her siblings disappear one-by-one, she felt no sadness or fear – this was what she was raised for. Finally, Dahlia was chosen by a young twoleg. As she was carried away, Anastasia and Lysander watched their daughter leave with deadpan eyes; Dahlia didn’t bother saying farewell.
Upon arriving in her new home, Dahlia was presented with a shiny new collar made of rhinestones, which glimmered brightly in the light. The twoleg also kept repeating the word “Mang-O” to Dahlia, which confused her – was this her new name? Didn’t sound very elegant. Once Dahlia was allowed to roam, she explored every inch – from the tallest cat tower to the smallest mouse-toy. She spotted some familiar things, such as multiple water fountains, plush cat beds, and even a rotating dirtbox. Despite her new twoleg showing her endless gifts and affection, Dahlia – well, now Mango – felt no love towards it. Their relationship, in her eyes, was strictly utilitarian. Mango would give the twoleg the occasional purr, and the twoleg would provide treats and pets in return. This transactional form of love was nothing new to Mango, and she expected her twoleg to recognize that as well. Afterall, she was the prized daughter of Anastasia and Lysander van der Linde.
After some time, Mango was introduced to a silver-and-black lithe tomcat, who looked nothing like her. This cat was tall and had a long, skinny tail that lashed like a whip, and emerald eyes which were rimmed with gold. Oh, how handsome was he. It became obvious her twoleg wanted the two to court, just like her parents did. The tomcat was named Dietrich Von Neumann, and came from a background of showcats, just like her. Although Mango struggled bonding with Dietrich, she couldn’t help but feel charmed by his aura. The two were courted, but soon after, the mysterious tomcat had to leave with his twoleg. Mango soon fell pregnant, and after two moons, she gave birth to a single kit, whom she named Isadora. As Isadora grew, Mango treated her the same as her mother before her, and when it was time for Isadora to find her twoleg, the two didn’t bid farewell.
Now, Mango has reached the age of 24 moons old. All she’s ever known was a pampered life and is quite content with it. Her schedule usually consists of professional grooming, high-quality meals, scheduled playtime, and the occasional showing competition. When she’s free, she enjoys watching the outside cats beg for food, and even chases them from her yard. Life is good for a cat like Mango.
