Lucien [Complete]

Lucien loves a challenge. He is clever and enjoys problem-solving. He is very proud of his intelligence and skills, which has led to him becoming somewhat vain.

Lucien is extremely dedicated and loyal to the causes he believes in. He holds himself to a high standard and sometimes pushes those expectations onto others. What he considers helpful suggestions could easily come across as him being overly critical of others.

Being social is not Lucien's thing. He either has no idea what to say in situations or ends up word vomiting. He finds both extremely embarrassing, so he avoids unnecessary conversation.

Lucien was born a kittypet. He has memories of his mother and siblings but has no recollection of his father. His earliest memories are of playing with his sisters. However, whenever he was old enough to be weaned from his mother, he was given to one of his human's friends. Not understanding why he had to be taken from his family and home, Lucien became despondent. He barely ate and spent most of his time hidden under his new human's bed. To get their pet to feel better Lucien's owners arranged a series of playdates with one of his sisters. Each time he was left alone Lucien's gloomy mood returned, and he slowly began to form a plan to escape and be with his family again.

A few months later, when the weather began to become warmer, his human began to leave to windows open to allow the fresh air in. Though there was some strange material that covered the windows that prevented him from simply leaving, Lucien soon discovered that one section gave in if he pushed hard enough. One day while his human slept, he made his escape.

Lucien quickly realized that he had no idea where he was and had no way of actually finding any of his family. Determined not to give up, he began to explore the surrounding area in hopes of finding some type of lead. After a few weeks of only eating scraps and struggling to fend off less friendly cats, Lucien met an older she-cat named Olivia. She took him in and nurtured him back to health, and taught him the ins and outs of life as a stray. Which areas to avoid, where to find the least rotten scraps, how to find the good water. The two became very close friends in their time together, and Lucien decided that if he couldn't make his way back to his family, he would be happy to stay with Olivia.

Tragedy struck when Olivia became ill. She was struck with a terrible cough that seemed untreatable. It sapped Olivia of all of her strength and Lucien spent all of his energy and time hunting for her and bringing her water. Before the inevitable happened, Lucien begged her to try to get help from the two-legs. He had hated going to the terrible sterile place his human had taken him to as a kitten, but he also knew it was a place of healing. Olivia told him that it was too late for that and apologized for leaving him too and that she wished she had been able to help him find his family again. He assured her that even though he hadn't found his blood family, she had become his family too. She passed a few days later and left the Two Leg Den Site after burying her.
