She slunk through the trees, steps as silent as a whisper, as she neared her father and the stranger chatting over a mouse. A fat snow hare hung in her jaws, its ear and paw tips only lightly brushing the ground. She'd managed to convince her father to move on ahead and find them a place of respite while she hunted for them both, promising him she'd follow after his scent. The lower hills of the Cliffs had helped her find her prey with ease, but with the chill they blew on her back in the midst of Greenleaf, she'd been less patient than usual, wanting to return to the heat of the sunshine.[break][break]
Silvershade was crouched in the bushes that surrounded the sparkling lake, watching and waiting to see if this was friend or foe that was talking with her father. Her father was no coward, nor was he feeble by any means; in fact, he was one of the strongest cats in all their forest back home, and one of the fiercest warriors of Darkclan. It was what had made him the best candidate as its deputy, and it was something she deeply admired him for and aspired to be like. But her father's joints had been tender through their journey to this new place, as the terrain and weather had been unkind as they'd made their way from the fire through twoleg nests, farms, deep forests and dense growths of grass and wheat.[break][break]
She lingered a few moments longer, eyeing the two of them before hesitantly breaking through the lush greenery and into the open. Taking long, fluid strides towards them, she only stopped once she'd managed to drop the hare at her father's pawsteps. "Father, I was not far behind, as promised." She gave a quick glance towards the other tom, violet eyes narrowed and looking him over from ear to tail. She couldn't help but smirk ever slightly, he seemed no great threat that she was unfamiliar with. And, it helped that his silver-streaked frame was handsome enough. "Who is your friend?"
