Stonepaw padded alongside Lionpaw, gazing sullenly around her. She always missed home. There would never be a day she wouldn't. But some days it was almost unbearable. And seeing the forest surrounding her once again, so much like her old Clan, but knowing it never would be her home, it broke her heart. She longed to be curled up in her old nest, she wanted to wake up and realize this was all just a bad dream. She wanted to see her brothers, to train with her mentor, to just brush the fire behind her.
But the life she had before was nothing but ash now.
Like so many days, Stonepaw wanted to cry. And like every single time, those tears never saw the light of day. She was the strong one. She
had to be the strong one. She couldn't let herself hurt. She was the one that could take the pain. That's who she always was.
And if she let herself fall apart, she wasn't sure she would be able to rise again.
So like everyday, Stonepaw stood tall, defiant against the world.
Sitting down as her sister flopped on her side, Stonepaw took a moment to look at the sky. Only there wasn't one. Not through the balcony of the trees. She let out a scoff. Of course StarClan would be hiding behind the very thing that once brought comfort. Of course they wouldn't show themselves after what they let happen.
She looked to her sister as she worried about Foxpaw and Tigerpaw, and padded over to rest her head on Lionpaw's.
"Those boys are strong. And they got each other. Just like us. Wherever they are, I'm sure they're just fine." She didn't answer whether or not they might be here, both her and Lionpaw knew how big the world was. It had been 6 moons. There was no way they would find each other, Stonepaw accepted that fact. StarClan would have to be guiding them for the siblings to see each other again. And Stonepaw knew all too well that they wouldn't do that. StarClan gave up on them. It was just her and Lionpaw now. And like every day before, Stonepaw made a silent vow that she would never abandon her sister the way their ancestors had.
